Best Food in Antigua

High quality typical Guatemalan meals are served up hot and fresh at La Escudilla in Antigua found at 4a Av Norte 4. The restaurant has a nice feel to it, with a beautiful outdoor dining area. Occasional special live musical events add to the dining experience.

La Escudilla is open for from 8 am to midnight and serves breakfast, Gua2lunch and dinner. Prices are average for Guatemala, meaning you can get a full meal for just a couple bucks. The complete breakfast comprised of eggs, tortillas, coffee, and salad (a little strange for breakfast), costs just $1.30. Daily specials, a hearty meal, cost only two dollars!

The best thing on the menu in my opinion is the Paradilla Quetzal, a meat lover’s dish combining steak, pork chops, chicken, sausages, tomato, avocado, black beans, bell peppers, onions and tortillas into a delicious concoction.

La Escudilla has several divisions, including Riki’s Bar, Los Cielos Lounge and Paris Bistro. Check out all the details and browse the menu here.
